SECURE™ is a treatment procedure designed to facilitate emotional release for clients under treatment for sequellae of exposure to emotional stress. The emotional stressor can be in the present, in the near past, or in the distant past. SECURE™ was initially designed to release the blunted Alpha brainwave response usually found in the EEG of clients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and often with clients less severely affected by their exposure to emotional stress. The subthreshold sounds are designed to elevate the amplitude of Alpha range brainwaves and the subliminal statements are designed to simultaneously encourage feelings of emotional safety, peace, well-being, and self-worth. Marked emotional response is often associated with exposure to SECURE™. This product is also used in braindriving neurotherapy protocols.
Subliminal stimuli (sounds and speech) are presented at energy levels (i.e., sound pressure levels) that are below the conscious recognition threshold. These stimuli are processed subconsciously and can affect mood, behavior, physiological arousal, neurological (i.e., brainwave) states, and personal core emotional beliefs (e.g., self-regard). Research has indicated that subliminal stimuli can affect the autonomic nervous system (e.g., heart rate) and the central nervous system (e.g., brainwave amplitude). Laboratory and clinical trials have indicated that Secure™ increases slow frequency brainwave amplitude. Secure™ is indicated as an adjunctive treatment for clients in therapy for the treatment of the consequences of emotional stress. This product is not designed as a stand-alone treatment for such conditions but to be used adjunctively to other therapies. For clients without such conditions or those post processing, Secure™ has been found to be effective for facilitating enhanced relaxation states and improved sleep.
